Whenever I try to tell a story at home, the kids tune out. Too much distractions. Around a campfire though, they listen. If it's a really good story, they sit still and listen.

My personal favorite is to listen to experienced campgers tell of their adventures. Here are some adventures I found today when reading on Blogsearch:

First, let's go over to Homesteading Today, a forum about "Neighborly Help and Friendly Advice." There is a thread there about funny and embarrassing camping stories. My favorite is the one about the shoe that got a bullet hole in it.

Next head over to SethNBeth's blog where they talk about a recent trip. Not much unusual except that they could have used a camping shower and they posted a picture of their cute boy. Family memories, I doubt they'll ever forget that trip.
